WFEO Presidency: Cheering News as FG Declares to Back NSE

The Federal Government has announced it will map out firm strategies for the Nigerian Society of Engineers (NSE), to clinch the Presidency of the World Federation of Engineering Organizations (WFEO). Minister of Science and Technology, Engr. Ogbonnaya Onu, FNSE, FAEng dropped the hint today Thursday, June 29, 2017, when he received the President of NSE, Engr. Otis Anyaeji, FNSE, FAEng and top officials of the African Union (AU), in Abuja.

Ogbonnaya told Anyaeji, the WFEO election in which Past President of NSE, Engr. Mustafa Balarabe Shehu, FNSE is a frontline candidate is major task for the federal government. He said that the government through the Ministry of Foreign Affairs will go all out to mobilize all friendly nations of the world for their delegates to support Shehu at the polls.

Earlier, Anyaeji told him that the support of the federal government by galvanizing countries with the voting right at the election was vital to giving Nigeria victory in December 2017, when the election will be held. He also told him that the AU is eagerly awaiting government approval and sponsorship of Shehu’s candidature to enable them swing into action by lobbying other regional bodies with heavy representation at the world engineering body, in order to secure victory for Nigeria and Africa at the polls.

The President thanked the Minister for his favourable disposition to the NSE ambition for the world engineering body leadership position. He also commended him for his immense contribution to the growth of the Society and the profession.
